    According to PWTorch.com, more than one person within WWE feels its only a matter of time before Batista returns to the organization. He’s currently in Thailand filming The Man with the Iron Fist. The film stars Russell Crowe, MMA fighter Cung Le and Lucy Liu.

    The Wrestling Observer is reporting that former WWE star Batista, real name Dave Bautista, has not signed with Strikeforce as of now, but remains in negotiations and things are said to be going well. Batista reportedly wants his official MMA debut to be either in March or April of 2011, as he is currently filming a movie and wants to resume training with the Cesar Gracie camp once that is done. Scott Coker, the founder and CEO of Strikeforce, remains interested in having Dave make his MMA debut against former WWE star turned MMA fighter Bobby Lashley.

    Batista — Gunnin’ for MMA Debut in 2011

    Ex-WWE star Batista flashed his tats backstage at Strikeforce this past weekend — schmoozing with MMA honchos — and we’re told, The Animal is “more ready than ever” to sign on the dotted line.

    The former wrestler met with officials at the MMA organization on Saturday in San Jose — and according to sources close to six-time WWE champ, “Batista is really eager to get in the ring and show everyone what he’s made of.”

    There’s no official deal yet — even though it’s been in the works for months — but the iron’s hot … in fact, we’re told Batista even met with Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker to talk shop during his visit .. and they’re both gunning for an early 2011 MMA debut.

    Deal or no deal — Batista quickly established his supremacy in the pec’ing order.

    Comingsoon.net has posted an interview with RZA, the director of the upcoming film The Man With The Iron Fist. On former WWE star Dave Bautista’s role in the film, RZA said, “Another buddy who is on board is Dave Batista, the world wrestling champion who left and now he’s into Strikeforce and he’s going to be doing mixed martial arts. To have him come on as Glass Body, when I talked to him about it, he was like, “I always wanted to be The Toad in ‘Five Deadly Venoms,'” and I said, this isn’t The Toad but the character is very similar, and he said it would be his honor to do it.”

  • MMA Fighter Gracie Speaks on Batista’s Chances of MMA Success

    Sherdog.com is reporting that former WWE star Batista recently participated in a 2 day training camp, which was put together by Strikeforce, with MMA fighter and trainer Cesar Gracie. The camp took place in California, and Gracie had the following to say about Batista’s work in the camp and his prospective MMA future:

    “He’s got a lot to learn but his strength alone is impressive,” Gracie said. “Obviously he’s a beginner at jiu-jitsu but we can take a guy like that that’s already a strong athlete like that and teach him what to not get caught in.”

    “You’re talking about a guy who is very powerful, very strong and an extremely hard worker, and if he can put it all together he could be a very formidable force,” he said. “And he’s at the right camp for that… Our camp is known for bringing people with nothing and making them into something. We like to make champs.”

    Internet gossip website TMZ recently caught up with UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar and did their usual annoying-camera bit. Unless you count junk about Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan a score from Brock Lesnar, only one worthy note comes from this particular video.

    Lesnar was asked about fellow former WWE Superstar Dave Batista joining MMA as he has shown interest in doing recently. Lesnar responded, “Good for him, good luck!” TMZ asked Lesnar whether or not he’d be willing to fight Batista, to which Lesnar replied, “I would fight him, but I don’t think he would want to fight me though.”
