  • Hulk Hogan Backtracks On His Recent Edge Comments

Posted on April 12th, 2011 admin 6 comments

Hogan is now backtracking on his most recent negative comments about Edges retirement, here is what he had to say:

Hulk Hogan posted the following comments on his official Twitter page: “I’m not saying anything bad about Edge, but he’s a real wrestler. Stone Cold and Cena had neck surgery and u couldn’t stop em, or Edge.  It’s in Edges blood,he lives for this business.  He’s a real wrestler, he’s a lifer, he’s one of the real boys, he’s hard to hold down, that’s all. HH”

It’s interesting to note that Hogan’s mention of Steve Austin’s neck surgery (the same surgery that Edge had) seemed to indicate that Austin worked after the surgery and Edge has not.  Both men worked for a while after their surgeries, but Austin stopped wrestling for the exact same reason Edge has been forced to retire: they risk very serious, permanent damage to their bodies if they continue.

  • Hogan Makes Tasteless Comments About Edge’s Retirement

Posted on April 12th, 2011 admin No comments

The following are some new tweets from the official Twitter page of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan:

@jays712 if any of the guys like me,Flair,Hardy,Andre,AA,Blanchard, orndoff,Henning would have listened to doctors we would have quit15yrsago

@jays712 but I don’t know Edges working environment because they are a media company not a wrestling company. HH wrestlers work hurt!

We here at Wrestling Rumors and News encourage Hulk Hogan to consider retiring because he is a has been who now wrestles for a second rate promotion that has ZERO chance of ever competing with the WWE as long as he and Bischoff have any pull within the company!

  • Honky Tonk Man Rips Into Hulk Hogan in a Scathing Blog

Posted on February 28th, 2011 admin 139 comments

    Honky Tonk Man

The Honky Tonk Man has posted a new blog on his website, this time taking aim at TNA star Hulk Hogan. The following are some highlights:

“You guys keep asking what’s the issue with Hogan. Here’s the deal. Hogan is in a back brace and without it he is on a walker as an old crippled dogshit of a man who could only be found with his feet in Lard Ass Bubba’s ass. You ask why HTM doesn’t like Hogan?

Jeff Jarrett approached HTM for a TNA merchandise deal in 2010 and “sent” a contract. Contract never came. HTM signs with WWE & Mattel. The same time, Hogan and Bischoff join TNA and Bischoff publicly insults HTM. HTM is called up for the “Hogan & Friends Tour”, went to the show and had a great event with the boys and the fans. HTM and Jimmy Hart spend hours setting up the show, spots etc. HTM and his web team promote “Hulk and Friends” everywhere which Hogan’s agent praised and admitted none of the other stars did! Bubba the lard sponge calls out HTM on his radio show so HTM posted a video owning Bubba in retaliation. Hogan goes off without seeing the facts and HTM is off the tour.

HTM went to Hogan’s room on the Hogan & Friends tour and spent hours talking to Hogan. Hogan was nice to HTM’s face. That’s the deal with Hogan. That’s always the deal with Hulk Hogan. Ask Vince McMahon or Randy Savage. Hogan is a walking dead because he went with that travelling door to door meat salesman Bischoff instead of hanging with the guys who stood beside him and once again turned on WWE. McMahon’s done with Hogan and WWE have no interest in his dead ass. They put over Hogan, built him up as Babe Ruth and he spat in their face. Hogan was due to wrestle John Cena at a recent past WrestleMania but couldn’t commit due to his health issues then announces at Vince’s backyard MSG that he’s signed with TNA. Now after taking TNA nowhere Hogan’s had to take a pay cut with TNA and mark my words within 6 months he’ll be gone.”

  • Hulk Hogan Sues Car Dealership For Gimmick Infringement

Posted on February 28th, 2011 admin 9 comments

The following is a new article from The Hollywood Reporter:

Hulk Hogan Sues Car Dealership for Stealing His Catchphrases

Hulk Hogan can always be counted on to deliver an entertaining lawsuit. Last year, the professional wrestler and reality television star strong-armed Post Foods after the cereal giant came out with a commercial that featured a character known as “Hulk Boulder” with long blond hair and a blond Fu Manchu mustache suffering humiliating defeat to Bam-Bam of Flintstones fame. Now, Hogan has picked his latest target — a company that owns car dealerships in the St. Louis area.

Hogan is suing Southland Imports and Suntrup Automotive Group over a commercial that warns unwary car buyers of getting “body slammed” over bad deals and that invites customers “tired of wrestling for a good deal.” The lawsuit filed on Tuesday in Florida District Court alleges that the defendant violated Hogan’s likeness and implied an endorsement by imitating his voice and using his catch phrases.

And what catch phrases does Hogan claim in the lawsuit to have popularized?

The heavy use of “brother” to refer to one’s acquaintances

Pointing to one’s own muscles and referring to them as “guns” (Watch out, Ron Burgundy)

    Reference to fans as “Hulkamaniacs”

Put together, the Hulkster sees a publicity rights infringer in his midst.

Hogan tells about his long list of accomplishments, which include six-time WWF/E champion, the part of “Thunderlips” in Rocky III, a cameo appearance on Walker: Texas Ranger, a VH1 reality show, host of American Gladiators, a cover of a Gary Glitter song, commercials with Troy Aikman, and the single biggest 900 phone number from 1991 to 1993. Yes, he’s that famous.

Hogan is seeking to body slam the commercial and derive unspecified damages from the defendant. He was successful in gaining a settlement last year in the case of “Hulk Boulder.”

They should be SMACKED for trying to be associated with Hulk Hogan to begin, at least that is what we think!

  • Hulk Hogan Heavily Criticizes The Rock’s WWE Return

Posted on February 24th, 2011 admin 6 comments

TNA star Hulk Hogan recently did an interview with Peter Rosenberg of HOT 97 FM. Hogan hyped the Impact taping in Fayetteville, NC being held tonight, and had the following to say concerning The Rock’s return to WWE:

“That is one of the reasons me and Vince McMahon don’t get along because we disagree on wrestling theory. He’s a genius. He has done a great job keeping the business alive and keeping it rolling.”

When asked if there was something Hogan didn’t like about Rock’s return: “Yeah, yeah. There is certain ways to do things. You know, for The Rock to come out and say, we’ve gone from Austin 3:16 to The People’s Champion to all of a sudden, you can’t see me (in whiny voice). They spent so much time building John Cena up. If it was me I would have said, from the Austin era to The People’s Champion era to John Cena. And I just gotta know in my heart whose the better man. There is a way to really build somebody up. You know.

All of a sudden in three or four seconds he had the whole arena screaming that Cena sucks. Sometimes I just don’t understand the philosophy because John Cena is going to be there all the time. And even though The Rock said he was back, he was only back for one day. He isn’t going to be there wrestling every single week like John Cena is, you know, holding it down and keeping it real. All that stuff is scripted, they have Stephanie McMahon and writers telling The Rock exactly what to say. I just didn’t understand why they wanted to destroy Cena so quickly.” You can listen to the full interview if you CLICK HERE.

We think here at Wrestling Rumors and News just think Hogan is a hater because The Rock is a better wrestler and actor than Hogan will has or ever will be.

  • Hulk Hogan Wants NFL Player Bart Scott To Try Pro Wrestling

Posted on January 22nd, 2011 admin 5 comments

The following is an excerpt from a new article from the official ESPN website:

Bart Scott made quite an impression on millions of startled viewers with his postgame rant to ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio after Scott’s New York Jets defeated the New England Patriots in their divisional playoff game.

Scott’s childhood hero, Hulk Hogan, was among them.

“I knew when Bart looked down the barrel of the camera he believed in himself and in what he was saying,” Hogan told ESPNNewYork.com by phone. “And that makes him a real dangerous man.”

Arguably the most popular pro wrestler of all time, Hogan was the audacious figure who inspired the Jets linebacker to become one of the NFL’s leading trash talkers. Scott’s interview with Paolantonio, punctuated by the Jets’ new mantra, “Can’t Wait,” became an Internet sensation and caught the attention of the wrestling legend whose style and moves Scott studied through his childhood in Detroit.

“It was like one of my mid-’80s promos, and all that was missing were a few ‘What are you gonna dos?’ and some lightning bolts in there,” said the 57-year-old Hogan, who now appears with TNA Wrestling on Spike TV. “It was right on the money. I think it’s cool that [Scott] is stepping up and showboating it a bit, because it’s about personality and entertaining people, too.

“I could tell Bart had been watching wrestling, and it’s pretty cool because a lot of these guys are afraid to step outside the box. … Sometimes when you say stuff you believe it and it happens.”

Hogan said he knew Scott had to be a wrestling fan when he watched the video “just by his mannerisms. He had the cadence down, his eyes were real wide, and he wasn’t looking at the interviewer but right down the barrel of that camera.”

Scott lived by Hogan’s articles of faith — doing your training, saying your prayers and taking your vitamins. Does the Jets linebacker have a potential second career in the ring?

“Oh yeah,” Hogan said. “When his career’s over and he wants to make some real money, tell him to give me a call and we’ll break him in the right way.”

  • Jarrett Speaks On Hulk Hogan’s Injuries, TNA & More

Posted on January 19th, 2011 admin 3 comments

The following is an excerpt from an interview-article featuring Jeff Jarrett:

Hulk Hogan has been to “hell and back” with his back injuries.

The wrestling legend underwent a 10-hour operation to rebuild sections of his spine in December and fellow grappling icon Jeff Jarrett – who along with Hogan wrestles for TNA – admits the pain he has been living with has been unbelievable.

Jarrett said: “The guy has been to hell and back with his back pain, his back issues and his injuries. He’s had a rough time of it, the last time he was on TV he was in a lot of pain, but everybody is hoping for the best for him.”

Hogan – real name Terry Bollea – has been out of action since the procedure and it has been rumoured that he will not step inside the ring again as a performer, but Jarrett insists you should never write off the 57-year-old wrestler.

He added to BANG Showbiz: “One thing I will say is never count that guy out. When he does appear and works the thing that I think is so refreshing and so strong is that we bring our strongest suits to the table and that’s been good for business. It’s been very, very enjoyable to work with him when he has been able to.”

  • Hulk Hogan Comments on Wrestling Again

Posted on December 28th, 2010 admin No comments

We reported earlier that Hulk Hogan underwent nine hours of surgery last Tuesday for a problem with his spinal cord that had been plaguing him for the majority of the past year. The procedure required Hogan to have his spine rebuilt and left him with graphic puncture wounds on his back. Responding to a fan today on Twitter, Hogan explained the operation was to fix a problem with his spinal cord.

…its all good my brother,I had to get my spinal cord straightened out. Much respect,’ he wrote.

Hogan added that doctors gave him a drug by mistake, which lengthened the ordeal to eleven hours. Regarding the possibility of one final match following his latest procedure, Hogan replied to a fan, “Never say never.”
