  • Big Update To Scott Hall Incident; Promoter Issues Statement

Posted on April 11th, 2011 admin 5 comments

Just days after the independent show where Scott Hall attempted to wrestle when he was in no condition to do so, the promoter of the event has issued an official statement.  Top Rope Promotions promoter, Steve Ricard put the following on their official website:

Top Rope Promotions has been holding family oriented wrestling shows for 30 years now, and on our 30th Anniversary event, we brought in one of the biggest names in pro wrestling, Scott Hall (aka Razor Ramon).

We drew a packed house and a good majority of them were there to see Hall. Hall and his people down in FL had all claimed he was clean and good to go. His flight and hotel were pre paid, and his appearance fee was demanded upon arrival at the airport (which he asked for within 3 min of being picked up).

Hall had arrived in a wheel chair with 3 bottles of prescription pills in his posession. Hall had performed an interview with our local newspaper The Herald News around 6 PM on Thursday night, saying how much he was looking forward to coming to the show, and how he was clean. Less then 24 hrs later, he showed up in the state he was in, demanding his appearance fee. Right off the bat, we were in a bad situation.

Having Hall at the building, already pre paid with his appearance fee, hotel, flight, etc. He even harassed my driver in the process. Hall was persistent to appear on the show. His heart was in the right place, unfortunately I can’t say the same about his mind or his body.

Throughout the night he made threats to numerous members of my staff, as well as myself demanding more money, demanding to go to the ring when he wanted to etc. He was also threatening to kill me if I “screwed” him over. I’m 31 years old and I should be in no circumstances, babysitting someone in there 50’s.

Hall made at best, an embarrassing performance in the ring and for the fans who came to see him, trashing matches that were on the show before him and addressing the crowd as if we were in England.

Neither Hall, nor anyone who helped line up the date, or any of his close friends or agents have called to apologize or offer a refund for his “less then stellar” appearance. He showed his true colors and who he was this past Friday night. If he’s upset that we’re airing a stream of this atrocious appearance, maybe he should issue an apology to the fans, the promotion, and the workers of the company. One would only assume that no one that night got what they paid for, myself included.

Awww SNAP, we here at Wrestling Rumors and News couldn’t agree more!  However, we also realize that Scott Hall is deep down a good guy who has some issues most likely with both drugs and alcohol and we hope that he takes advantage of the WWE’s offer to pay for rehab once again.

  • Daniel Bryan Speaks on WWE Return, The Miz as Pro & More

Posted on January 7th, 2011 admin 1 comment

WWE star Daniel Bryan recently did an interview for SLAM! Wrestling. Below are a couple excerpts:

-On his WWE return: “When they [WWE] called me to bring me back, John Laurenitis, the head of talent relations, was adamant that I try to keep as many of my independent bookings as I could. That kind of took me by surprise. It was really cool because I owe a lot to my independent fans and the promoters who booked me, so it was really cool for them to react that way.”

-On having The Miz as his NXT pro: “I was actually hoping for a little bit of mentoring from him,” Bryan told SLAM! Wrestling in an October 2010 interview, prior to coming to Winnipeg for a WWE house show. “People might be shocked by that, but my weaknesses are his strengths and his weaknesses are my strengths. My weakness has always been that you don’t look at me and say, ‘Oh that guy’s a WWE superstar,’ whereas The Miz carries himself like a superstar and he believes he’s a superstar, whereas I don’t think I’m better than my neighbour.”

‘Combat Zone’ wrestler wanted in S. Jersey bank heist

    Inquirer Staff Report

Officials are looking for a professional ultra violent wrestler known as Nick Gage on charges of robbing a bank in Collingswood last week.

Gage, whose real name is Nicholas Wilson, 30, allegedly stole $3,000 from the PNC Bank on Haddon Avenue about 1:40 p.m. Dec. 22, Camden County Prosecutor Warren Faulk and Collingswood Police Chief Richard Sarlo said in a joint statement.

Officials said Wilson handed a teller a threatening note saying he would shoot her if she did not hand over the cash.

Wilson’s last known address is Lakeshore Drive in Camden.

In 2005, he was burned in a Combat Zone Wrestling tournament when he was thrown out of the ring into a platform of burning plywood.

In a YouTube video that apparently was supposed to be a public service announcement warning children not to imitate extreme wrestlers, he goes off on Combat Zone Wrestling and claims he was dead for 8 minutes after one bout.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Sgt. William Townsend of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office at 856-225-8400 or Det. Frank Lee of the Collingswood Police Department at 856-854-2401.

Kayfabe Commentaries sent along the following press release:

    October 13, 2010

The coveted Ring Roasts V.I.P. ticket is a dream night for many, and the chances of it coming true this year are dwindling. The V.I.P. pass grants holders a private one-hour meet and greet with the stars of the show, as well as a front row seat for the actual show. The event is this Friday night, October 15 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Monroe, NJ.

This year’s guest of honor is Jim Cornette, and the stars who have come out to roast him are many, ranging from Al Snow, to Bob Holly, to the Midnight Express (Condrey and Eaton), to Dutch Mantel, to Prince Nana, to Nick Dinsmore, to Missy Hyatt, and more. Ring Roasts co-promoters Kayfabe Commentaries and Legends of the Ring have announced that there are 4 V.I.P. passes remaining for Friday night.

This wild event was prioneered the partner promoters three years ago and made headlines with the The Iron Sheik’s roast. Since then the event has come to be viewed as the most unpredictable night in pro wrestling.

For some reason we here at Wrestling Rumors and News do not think OMEGA will be very successful this time around.
