Posted on April 13th, 2011 admin 3 comments

Matt Hardy, who has had a long and controversial history with Edge, commented on Edge’s retirement via Twitter:

“Heard Adam is retiring because of physical issues that won’t allow him to safely continue wrestling. He’ll be missed, we’ve certainly had our fair share of issues.. Both good and bad. But I tip my hat to Edge who is one of the greatest I’ve ever been in the ring with. Adam resides in NC now-sure I’ll run into him down the road. Glad that him & I are in a good place. We came in as friends, & went out that way.”

  • Matt Hardy’s Alter Ego to TNA, More on the New “They” Angle

Posted on January 20th, 2011 admin 2 comments

    Source: The Wrestling Observer

It’s being reported that current creative plans call for Matt Hardy’s alter-ego “Cold Blooded” Matt Hardy to be brought into TNA in the near future. Several months ago, Hardy introduced the “Cold Blood” alter-ego on Twitter, and it’s being said that he is likely to be performing the character of “Cold Blood” Matt Hardy in TNA in the near future.

As far as the new “They” story line is concerned, it is expected that “They” will be revealed as the returning Main Event Mafia in TNA, which will likely consist of Kurt Angle, Sting and a former member of the group who appeared at this past week’s Impact tapings. We won’t mention his name here for those who don’t want to be spoiled. There are reports that Booker T and Kevin Nash might be brought in to join the group, but neither of those rumors have been confirmed. The angle is set to begin on February 3rd.

  • Matt Hardy On A WWE Return, TNA, Tag-Team Wrestling

Posted on January 7th, 2011 admin 5 comments

The following are highlights from a new interview with Matt Hardy:

Matt on the lack of focus currently on WWE’s tag team division: Business isn’t hot, it’s not the way we want it to be right now so we need to make our number one priority is to find the next Hulk Hogan or the next Stone Cold Steve Austin.

“We have to have Cena or Orton or whoever else, they have to become this company guy that makes business hot and good again and they start drawing great ratings and selling great amounts of tickets. And that’s their number one concern. And until that happens, they won’t focus on tag team wrestling, or a cruiserweight division, or an X-Division, or a lightweight division, or whatever it may be.”

Matt on the current WWE PG initiative: “I see why they do it; I don’t necessarily agree with it. I think it puts them in a tough spot. I think it’s still cool that TNA has the ability to do things that are a little edgy. But once again, you don’t need people bleeding every match and you don’t need every match to be a ladder match. I think things have to be promoted smart and wisely.”

On a possible return to the WWE: “If I did go back there I would want to go back there and work a part-time schedule. I just think my body, where I’m at right now, I’m past working 300-plus days a year right now… I’d still be willing to work hard and work a majority of the shows but still not just out there in the trenches, day in and day out, like I have been for the past 13 years.”

On a possible promotion in the Carolinas like TNA: “Yes, absolutely, I really do. I’ve talked with different guys about it already and I’ve definitely started making some small plans and as time goes on they’ll start materializing more and more.”

Hardy concluded his video by adding that his hair is not the only thing that is changing, but that a lot of things are.

“… because in 2011, Matt Hardy is going to become unpredictable and he’s going to change pro wrestling forever.”
